Project Overview

A brief look at the game's concept, mechanics, and development journey.

In Space Junk, you take on the role of The Space Binman, dispatched to a space station to clear away cosmic debris. However, upon arrival, you uncover a chilling revelation: the crew has been infected by an intergalactic virus, transforming them into mindless zombies! It's up to you to neutralise the threat and make a "clean" getaway before the situation spirals further out of control.

Development Highlights

Driving the vision, mechanics, and execution as the project's sole developer.

  • Programmed the player controller, dialogue system, enemy AI, enemy spawn points, gun physics, controller input, and weapon variants in Unity using C#.

  • Integrated the Cinemachine plugin for smoother camera transitions, and worked on VFX (such as fog and lighting) and SFX to enhance the eerie atmosphere.

  • Modelled the gun in Blender and incorporated animations for both the player and enemy models.

  • Conducted thorough playtesting, creating multiple builds to ensure top quality.​
