Project Overview
A brief look at the game's concept, mechanics, and development journey.
Updated: 01 Jan 2025
I began this project in August 2024 with the goal of remaking Dimension Jumper, the game that kicked off my journey into game development. This time, I’m focusing on creating a more polished version, with plans to eventually release it on Steam. To enhance the experience, I’m integrating features like local co-op, which is entirely new for me.

I aim to push myself with each project by trying something different, ensuring I’m constantly learning and improving as a developer. While this project is still in the proof-of-concept phase and there’s not much I can reveal yet, I’m excited to share what I can so far.

Currently, I’ve shifted my focus from programming the core mechanics to working on the art and player controller. I’m also collaborating with my good friends Carie Ng, a UI/UX designer, and Matt Corben, who is assisting with programming.

Development Highlights
Driving the vision, mechanics, and execution as the project's sole developer.
-
Collaborating with a UI/UX designer and a C# programmer to refine the art style and tackle complex systems.
-
Programmed enemy AI, player controls, scoring system, room transitions, and implemented a CRT filter to achieve a retro aesthetic.
-
Designed gameplay inspired by Dimension Jumper, the first game I ever created.
