Project Overview

A brief look at the game's concept, mechanics, and development journey.

Arena: Text-Based Combat Game is a text-based combat game developed in Visual Studio 2015. Step into the Arena as a courageous combatant, facing off against a fearsome beast in turn-based combat. This game marks my first foray into game development with C++, and I hope to revisit and expand upon this concept in the future.

Driving the vision, mechanics, and execution as the project's sole developer.

  • Programmed the player combatant, monster AI, combat mechanics, abilities, and damage system in C++, aiming to create a text-based combat RPG.

  • Playtested extensively and enlisted additional playtesters to gather feedback and refine the game.
